Employee Mural Contest Provides Lasting Inspiration

Seventeen talented Franciscan Health employees showed us their “heART” with their inspiring entries in the Franciscan Health Foundation’s inaugural mural contest, which was held during the annual employee giving campaign.

“We are so grateful to our resident artists at Franciscan Health for participating,” said Caitlin Leahy, senior vice president, Foundation and Community Health Improvement.

The artist who had the most votes from her fellow Franciscan Health employees was Lizzy Rainey, an imaging tech at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. Lizzy titled her acrylic on canvas painting Compassion Radioactive and explained it as follows: “The alarming image of the radiation symbol is highlighted in gentle bubbles as it passes through the compassionate hands of the technologist.”

Second place went to Danica Koenig, administrative assistant at Franciscan Health Munster and third place was Emma Ault, a graphic designer with the marketing department in Indianapolis.

A total of 2,667 votes were submitted. Even better, the annual employee giving campaign had 20.5 percent participation with a total of $1.25 million raised for Franciscan Health’s Foundation programs.

Winning murals were recently put on display at Franciscan hospitals. And this year’s mural contest is now open to new entries. Thanks to all our participants for truly inspiring work, which you can view at Facebook.com/MyFranciscan.
