Franciscan Health Foundation offers three giving societies. Our request is simple: Choose the best option for you to prayerfully support the mission of Saint Francis to provide healing and hope to a world in need.
Circle of 1875
A system-wide program
Become a member of the Circle of 1875, a women-powered giving program that supports the Sisters’ 150-year mission. When a diverse group of women comes together, informed and empowered to make funding decisions, the possibilities for our community members are endless.
Support the mission and programs of the Franciscan Health Foundations. Members pledge $1,000 or more and gather twice a year to explore new ideas and projects that are making a difference right in our backyard.
The Tau Provider Society
A system-wide program
The Tau Society brings together physicians, nurses and all those who care to offer their time, talents and generosity for the greater good. Inspired by its symbolism, the Tau represents hope, life and renewal – which guides the efforts of the Society in making a collective impact.
Your gifts to the Tau Society are earmarked for meaningful initiatives, including:
- Medical missions that bring access to healthcare
- Educational scholarships to support future healthcare leaders
- Community health outreach to improve outcomes for all
- Patient assistance to alleviate financial burdens

The Blessed Maria Theresia Bonzel Society
A system-wide program
The Bonzel Society was created to honor our foundress, Blessed Maria Theresia Bonzel, whose life was inspired by the ideals of St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis’ legacy of faith, selfless giving and boundless love continues to guide us. He showed compassion to all, regardless of background, and this spirit was carried to America when Blessed Maria Theresia sent six Sisters from Olpe, Germany, to Lafayette, Indiana in 1875 to begin a ministry of healthcare and education for the poor and neglected.
The Bonzel Society recognizes those who have included Franciscan Health Foundation in their estate or financial plans. These generous individuals help Franciscan Health to thrive and successfully meet the growing needs of our community(s).

Founders Circle
A Northern Indiana program
The Founders Circle is comprised of any individual, community business, civic group or foundation that financially supports the work and mission of a Franciscan Health Northern Indiana hospital at or above $1,000. Membership in the Founders Circle gives our donors an opportunity to deepen their relationship with the hospital.
